We are a busy family. Like, REALLY busy. Sometimes we are out of the house for 10-12 hours a day. With 2 kids who are vegetarian, we do our best to pack our lunch, but sometimes we have to grab a fast food dinner while on-the-go from dance class to rehearsals. However, sometimes eating vegetarian on-the-go can have its difficulties. But there are options available! Please keep in mind that menu options are subject to change.

How to eat Vegetarian on-the-go with kids
Eating vegetarian on-the-go can prove to be challenging. I have compiled a list of some of the places we frequent and the options we choose. This is an ever-changing list so these are simple ideas you can search for but may not be exact.
-Morning Star veggie burgers
-Side salad, or any salad minus meat
-Mushroom and Swiss burger with no meat. (They have seasoned mushrooms, swiss cheese, crispy onion strings and a creamy aioli.)
-Hamburger or cheeseburger with no meat, but add lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle.
-Southwest grilled chicken salad with no chicken. (It has corn, black beans, tomatoes, peppers, cheese, tortilla strips on romaine, spinach, kale, red leaf lettuce and ribbon carrots.)
-Side salad or any salad option without the meat.
-Bun with cheese.
-Cool wrap no chicken.
-Market salad no meat with romaine lettuce and baby greens and topped with shredded red cabbage and carrots, crumbled blue cheese, and strawberries, red and green apples, and blueberries. Comes with Harvest Nut Granola and Roasted Nut Blend.
-Spicy Southwest Salad without chicken
-Cobb salad no chicken/bacon
-Macaroni and Cheese
-Vegetarian sides include a side salad, mac & cheese, waffle fries, fruit cup, greek yogurt parfait, kale crunch side, and waffle potato chips.
-You can order practically anything on the Taco Bell menu vegetarian, just sub beans for the meat.
-The kids’ favorites are Cheesy Rollups, 7 Layer Burritos, Veggie Power Menu Burritos which you can also get in a bowl, Black Bean Burrito, and the Fiesta Taco Salad without meat.
-Wendy’s has a large variety of salads. Order without chicken, bacon, and chili for the Taco salad.
-Our favorite salads are Apple Pecan Chicken Salad, whole or half salad, no meat and Harvest Chicken Salad, whole or half salad, no meat.
-Our go-to’s are baked potatoes and side Caesar salads. You can get baked potatoes with butter, sour cream, chives, cheese and broccoli
-No main meat-free meals at KFC but my kids are perfectly happy ordering a few sides and going to town! They feel like they are at a buffet.
-Sides include green beans, coleslaw, mac & cheese, corn, mashed potatoes, fries & biscuits.
Solving the Issue
It is always a huge thought process when trying to figure out food if I need to be on the go with my vegetarian and on-the-go kids. But with the help of food guides and having a set menu at the ready, I can keep my kids eating healthy vegetarian options and well while we stay on-the-run.
